Bangladesh Rural Electrification Board is a statutory body of the Government of Bangladesh,
whose responsibility is to deliver electricity to the rural areas of Bangladesh, which is done by BRET in the country through 78 POWL Power Committees.
Its head office is located in Dhaka. This is one of the main power distribution companies of Bangladesh.
The current Chairman of BREB is Major General Moin Uddin.
The Rural Electrification Board was established in 1977 by a presidential order. And in 1978 it started the program.
The BRDE produces electricity lines and power sub-stations in rural areas. For the development of the rural population,
the village is playing an important role in making Bangla as the city’s homogeneous structure.
Till the year 2011, 78 POWER BATTITY SAMAs were formed in the initiative of BRB.
The Rural Electrification Association is conducting 100 percent electrification work in the whole country through electricity from the government’s planned home.
From 33 KV line through national grid, electricity supply directly to subscriber level through 11 KV feeders from 33/11 KV sub-station in remote areas.
